BYD and Marcopolo deliver first 22m articulated electric bus to be produced in Brazil

Brazil - BYD do Brasil Ltda of Campinas, SP, and Marcopolo SA of Caxias do Sul, RS, in March announced delivery of the first articulated electric bus to be made in Brazil to the city of São José dos Campos. The vehicle is to be used for city public transport as part of the Linha Verde project1, which will link the southern, central and eastern regions of the municipality in a segregated corridor offering sustainable mobility.

The articulated Marcopolo Attivi Express is based on a BYD D11B 22-metres long chassis fitted with lithium iron phosphate batteries (LifePO4) and offering a range of up to 250 kilometres. The bus is 2.6m wide and 3.73m high and offers a capacity for 168 passengers - 60 seated and 108 standing - in addition to space for a wheelchair.
