SAF-Holland working with AEM to develop rare earth-free electric trailer axle

Germany / UK - Axle specialist, SAF-HOLLAND GmbH of Bessenbach, Germany and British electric motor producer, Advanced Electric Machines Ltd (AEM) are working together to develop the latest edition of the SAF TRAKr regenerative braking axle.

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the companies, the Washington, UK-based AEM is supplying the HDSRM150 electric motor, which is completely free of rare earth elements and copper, for the SAF TRAKr regenerative braking axle.
