Chile – Announcing a substantial increase in truck sales in Chile during the first quarter of 2021 of 45.8% to register 344 units (236), Scania Chile SA, headquartered in Santiago de Chile, said this performance had further consolidated its market position of second in the country. At the end of 2020, Scania said it secured a 16.2% market share in trucks over 16 tonnes, an increase of 3.6 percentage points to take it into second spot.

For 2021, Scania projects a 40% growth, driven by the mining segment with the rise in copper prices and the growing demand in the retail sector.
