Sweden / Spain – Purpose-designed 16t gvw electric truck manufacturer for distribution services, Volta Trucks, which is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, has announced it is exploring the possible manufacture of the Volta Zero in Spain as one of several possible sites in Europe. Volta Trucks says it has formally expressed an interest in the Decarbonisation Hub project within the former Nissan manufacturing facilities in Barcelona. Volta Trucks says the Barcelona site is one of several manufacturing options currently being investigated, alongside other potential sites in the UK and Europe. (It is understood Nissan Motor Ibérica, S.A. uses the facilities in Barcelona for LCV project and design, powertrain engineering, vehicle test and trial production. It also builds two vehicle types there, e-NV200 light-duty van and Navara pickup).
