Vietnam - Vietnam’s market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw expanded by over 33% to 15,211 units in the first quarter of 2021 after declining by over 25% to 11,390 units in the same period of last year, based on wholesale data compiled by the Vietnam Automotive Manufacturers Association (VAMA).

GDP growth is estimated to have expanded by 4.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021 from reasonably buoyant year-earlier levels and after a similar rate of growth in the fourth quarter of last year, driven mainly by strong growth in exports and rising foreign direct investment (FDI).
