Japan - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC – Fuso) of Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture has launched an upgraded medium/heavy-duty Fighter truck with an advanced safety package, which puts it in full compliance with new safety regulations in Japan due to be introduced in September, announced the Daimler subsidiary in March.

The new Fighter comes with the company’s Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA5) collision mitigation system as standard, which uses a combination of conventional radar technology and a windshield-mounted camera to detect traffic conditions more precisely on the road ahead. It warns drivers with a buzzer sound and with visual alerts if there is a risk of collision with another vehicle or with a pedestrian.
