Australia / JapanMitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) of Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan has announced it has launched the new Euro VI-compliant medium-duty Fighter and heavy-duty Shogun truck models in Australia; this move is in advance of a decision by the country to set a deadline date for adoption of Euro VI emissions standards. Both models also feature new advanced emergency braking features, as  well as expansion of its heavy-duty range with a new six-wheeler Shogun model.

The medium-duty Fighter for Australia - which will be distributed by Daimler Truck and Bus Australia (DTBA), which is headquartered in Victoria, Australia and managed by President and CEO, Daniel Whitehead - is available in variants ranging from 11 to 24 tons gvw, as well as various wheelbases and drivetrain configurations including a choice of manual or automatic transmission. The latest safety features in the Fighter truck now includes Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP). Sideguard Assist, which warns drivers of pedestrians or objects in the left blind spot, is also installed on applicable models. MFTBC claims this technology upgrade for the Fighter makes FUSO the only commercial vehicle brand in Australia to offer advanced emergency braking assistance technology in light, medium, and heavy-duty truck segments.
