Taiwan / Spain - Through MFTB Taiwan Co Ltd of Taipei, Mercedes-Benz strengthened its position in Taiwan’s intercity and touring coach market with the launch of the ‘Mercedes-Benz Euro VI touring coach’ for the Taiwanese market built on the OC500 RF Euro VI-compliant chassis in April this year. The OC 500 chassis is fitted with the 12-litre Mercedes-Benz OM 470 diesel engine, which, Mercedes-Benz states is the new emission standard for trucks and buses in Taiwan since the beginning of the year (2021).

The OC500 chassis is imported completely knocked down in parts from Mercedes-Benz’ dedicated chassis facility on Sámano, Spain, which is operated by Daimler’s EvoBus Iberica subsidiary; the chassis parts are then assembled locally in Taipei by MFTB.
