East Asia - The market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw in East Asia’s seven main markets (excluding China) expanded by 4.2% to 366,367 units in the first quarter of 2021 after declining by almost 19% to 351,556 units in the same period of last year, according to data compiled by www.AsiaMotorBusiness.com from numerous industry sources.

Most markets in the region rebounded from depressed year-earlier levels in the first quarter, helped by government stimulus measures, historically-low interest rates and growing optimism that the COVID-19 pandemic may soon be brought under control as the roll out of vaccines got underway at the beginning of the year.
