Russian bus market falls by 24.2% in Q1/2021

Russia – The registrations of buses with gross vehicle weights of 5t and more in Russia in Q1 of 2021 fell by 24.2% year-on-year to 2,420 units, according to LLC Avtostat Info. Sales of foreign models was 47.3% lower from 372. to 196, while sales by Russian OEMs fell by 21.4% from 3,078 to 2,120. The share of foreign models including MAZ and NEMAN from Belarus totalled just 196 units, merely 8% of the total market and most of them, 101 units or 68.8%, were Chinese-made buses. The share of European manufacturers was minimal at 17.3% or 34 units.

PAZ remained the biggest player on the Russian bus market with 1,472 new vehicles despite a fall of 11.9% in sales. Its small PAZ-3205 was the most sold model – 742 units (17.9% down).
