Brazil - Coach body builder, Carbuss Industria Catarinense de Carrocerias Ltda of Joinville, Brazil, which builds under the Busscar brand name, has announced plans to increase its market share of the intercity and charter coach segment in Brazil to 20% in 2021, putting it in second place to Marcopolo.

If this growth materializes, Busscar would move ahead of Comil for second position in the Brazilian production of buses and coaches, behind Marcopolo, and jump from zero to more than 1,000 units in just over two years of activities, with growth of almost 100% compared with its business in 2020 – this target is even more spectacular given the strong impact the new coronavirus and second wave pandemic is having and likely to have in the near term on the Brazilian bus and coach sector industry.
