TICO engages Volvo Penta as e-mobility partner for terminal tractor development

Sweden / USA - AB Volvo Penta Industrial of Gothenburg, the marine and industrial powertrain division of the Volvo Group, has entered a strategic project partnership with TICO (Terminal Investment Corporation) of Savanah, Georgia, USA to electrify its terminal tractor range.

The two companies said they were working jointly in the development of emissions-free, fully-electric terminal truck prototypes, which are used in applications such as ports, distribution centres and rail terminals, which are highly suited for EVs.
