India Oil orders 15 HFC-buses from Tata Motors

Mumbai - Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai has won a tender to supply 15, hydrogen-based proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell buses from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for the value of USD6.129m. Deliveries are to take place over the next three years (144 weeks). 

More details of the bus specification is expected to be released once the formal Memorandum of Understanding is signed. However, Ballard Power Systems announced it will supply all 15 buses with its 70kW (kW) FCmove-HD fuel cell modules by 2022. The buses are to be deployed in Faridabad, the largest city in the National Capital Region of Delhi.
