LCV bus sales recovering in India

India – Domestic sales of light duty buses and coaches(GVW 7.5t or less) surged by 399.7%, increasing to 4,297 units in Q1 2021-22 from 860 units in the first quarter of the previous financial year. Overall production increased by 349.4% from 1093 units to 4,912 units, but total exports dropped by 3.2% from 217 units to 210 units.

Domestic sales in the minibus segment (GVW ≤ 5t with more than 13 seats including the driver) experienced a surge of 510.8% to 2,034 from 333. Production increased by 360% to 2,047 (445), and exports also increased to 21 (from zero).
