LCV truck sales almost treble in Q1 in India

India – Domestic sales of light-duty goods carrier vehicles (GVW ≤ 7.5t) grew by 174.3% to 72,345 units in the first quarter of the financial year 2021-22, compared with 26,373 units sold in same period of the previous year. Total production of LCV goods carriers increased by 326.7% from 21,177 to 90,356 units, while total exports rose by 304.9% from 2,419 to 9,794.

The lightest segment (GVW ≤ 2t), saw sales increase by 236.2% to 23,928 units (from 7,117). Production increased by 307% to 27,699 (6,806) and exports increased by 405.2% to 1,455 (288).
