Canada / USALion Electric Company, an EV manufacturer based in Saint-Jérôme, Canada, received an order for two of its all-electric trucks from Green Mountain Power, the main electricity distributor in Vermont. It is among the first utilities in New England to put all-electric heavy-duty trucks into service.

Lion will deliver the first truck, a Lion8 bucket truck for line crews, in the first half of 2022, while the second truck, a Lion6 stake body truck for electrical maintenance field crews, will be delivered in the summer of 2023. Lion claims that employing electric trucks will reduce a fleet’s maintenance costs by up to 60% and its energy costs by up to 80%. The Lion8 has a range of 130 miles and the Lion6 a range of 200 miles on a single charge.
