Rigid truck sales rebound in India

India – Sales of medium and heavy rigid trucks (7.5t GVW and above) in India saw growth of 536.3% in the first quarter of the financial year 2021-22, increasing to 24,898 units from 3,913 units in same quarter of the year 2020-21. Production of rigid trucks increased by 519.4% to 35,701 units from 5,764, while exports went up by 414.3% to 4,896 units from 952.

Domestic sales of medium-duty rigid trucks sales (7.5t to 12t) experienced a growth of 463.2% to 3,334 units sold (from 592). Production increased by 315.4% to 6,784 (1,633) while exports went up by 274.9% to 1,267 (338).
