UK – The Scottish government has awarded GBP40.5m to multiple bidders as part of its scheme to reduce emissions in its public bus network. Six bids were selected, which were tendered by First Glasgow No 1 Ltd., McGill’s Bus Service Ltd., Ember Core Ltd., and Stagecoach West, East, and Bluebird

The Scottish Ultra-Low Emission Bus Scheme (SULEBS) was introduced last year to replace the Scottish Green Bus Fund, which ran yearly between 2011 and 2018. The new SULEB scheme provides support for the purchase of new low emission buses up to a maximum of 75% of the differential costs against diesel buses, as well as support towards the cost of charging infrastructure (up to a maximum 75% of the capital cost).
