Canada – A consortium of companies and institutions in Quebec province, Canada, have announced they are to collaborate on a pilot project in Laval, which aims to facilitate the wider adoption of electric buses in school transportation fleets. The project is organised by Hydro-Québec, a state-owned electric utility company based in Montreal, through its R&D-focused subsidiary, InnovHQ

The project will involve the implementation of 12 charging stations with a total power of 260kW to support an initial deployment of 10 electric school buses from September this year - the beginning of the new school year. 50 more are to be deployed in the following months, with charging infrastructure growing to provide one charging station per bus.
