Volvo to acquire JMC heavy-duty truck division and manufacturing facility from Jiangling Motors in China

Sweden / China – Last month, Volvo Trucks Corporation, the Gothenburg-based truck manufacturing division of AB Volvo, announced its intention to acquire JMC Heavy Duty Vehicle Co Ltd from Jiangling Motors Co Ltd of Taiyuan in Shanxi, China for RMB0.8bn (approximately SEK1.1bn or EUR105m). As part of the transaction, Volvo Trucks will also acquire JMC’s manufacturing facility in Taiyuan, where Volvo Trucks plans to produce its FH, FM, and FMX models for the Chinese market from the end of 2022 onwards.
