Japan - Hino Motors Ltd, headquartered in Tokyo, announced in June it would launch a battery-powered version of its popular, Poncho medium-duty bus in Japan in early 2022 as it looks to expand its portfolio of zero-emission vehicles.

The 30-seater, 8-ton gvw Hino Poncho Z EV will retain the popular design features that made the current model popular in Japan, including its user-friendly layout and appearance. It is powered by a 105 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, with electric motors generating a power output of 161 kW.
