Ideanomics acquires electric truck platform builder VIA Motors

USA Ideanomics Inc, a financial technology company based in New York City, has acquired VIA Motors Inc in an all-stock transaction for a 100% ownership stake in the company, subject to customary closing conditions. 

VIA Motors, which was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Orem, Utah, has been developing a scalable and flexible electric skateboard platform, which can be adapted to fit commercial weight classes 2 through 5. Its product portfolio also includes proprietary software and control systems including diagnostics and telematics. Via Motors has already forged business relationships with commercial fleets and distributors in North America, including autonomous drive technology company Gatik of Palo Alto, California, and AT Motors Corporation, a manufacturer and distributor of commercial vehicles in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.
