Indonesia - The Indonesian market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw rebounded strongly in the second quarter of 2021, to 26,788 units after plunging by almost 80% to 6,452 units in the same period of last year – when the government imposed strict social and business restrictions to slow the initial spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to www.AsiaMotorBusiness.com analysis of industry data.

GDP rebounded by 7.1% year-on-year in the second quarter, the first expansion in five quarters, after shrinking by 5.3% a year earlier at the height of last year’s recession. Driving the recovery was a strong rebound in exports, which jumped up by almost 32%, driven by a rebound in global demand and rising commodity prices.
