Vicinity Motor receives first order for its Class 3 electric truck

CanadaVicinity Motor Corp of Aldergrove, British Columbia, received its very first order for its fully-electric truck model from an undisclosed private operator in British Columbia. The order for 10 trucks, valued at over CAD1m, will be delivered in the first quarter of 2022. 

The VMC 1200 fully-electric Class 3 truck has a gross vehicle weight rating of 12,000 lbs and a load capacity of 6,000 lbs. The electric powertrain provides a top speed of 65 mph and a maximum power output of 120 kW (160 hp), while the battery system delivers up to 150 kWh of power and a 150-mile range on a single charge, with a quick recharge rate of two and a half hours. These characteristics, along with its size and quietness, suit the truck for urban operations.
