Hübner launches SensIQ door safety product family

Germany – Articulated systems specialist, Hübner Group of Kassel, Germany, has launched the SensIQ product line, aimed at increasing the safety of automated bus doors. SensIQ features the SensIQ signal and SensIQ touchless products (see below), which are centred around the SensIQ contact system: This is activated when an object or when a passenger comes into contact with the door’s edge, triggering the door to either reopened or held in the open position.

Hübner offer two options of the contact system: A pressure sensor or an electrical contact strip. With the pressure sensor, upon contact with a passenger or object, the compression of the ‘EPDM’ rubber seal creates a pressure change inside the door seal, which triggers the door to reopen. With the electrical contact strip option, compression of the seal closes an electrical circuit and reopens the door.
