Allison Transmission’s Regional Haul Series selected for Daimler class 8 truck

USA – Allison Transmission Inc, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, has announced the integration of its 3414 Regional Haul Series automatic transmission into Daimler Trucks North America’s Class 8 Freightliner Day Cab models.

Utilising Allison’s xFE technology, which incorporates an internal gear scheme, as well as Allison’s FuelSense 2.0 with DynActive shifting technology, Allison says the 3414 RHS will deliver up to 8% fuel economy improvement over the older 3000 Highway Series. Allison also claims that that the product is the lightest transmission in the segment at up to 11% less than the closest competitor.
