Oshkosh to collaborate on development of autonomous driving technology and robotics

USAOshkosh Corporation, a manufacturer of specialty vehicles based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has announced a partnership with Carnegie Foundry, a robotics and AI company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is intended to drive research into autonomy and robotics. 

Carnegie Foundry is a start-up company with connections to the National Robotics Engineering Center at Carnegie Mellon University. Oshkosh is hopeful this research collaboration will lead to the development of autonomous emergency vehicles in the future. It states the partnership will complement the company’s ongoing work in developing autonomous technologies for applications such as firefighting and waste collection. A member of Oshkosh will join the Carnegie Foundry Board of Directors as part of the deal.
