Argentine CV market grew more than 50% in the first nine months of 2021

Argentina – According to data from ACARA (Association of Vehicle Dealers of the Republic of Argentina), the Argentine commercial vehicle market closed the first nine months of 2021 with the sale of 11,608 units, marking an increase of 50.8% over the same period in 2020, when it totalled 7,697 vehicles. The month of September had sales 12.3% lower than in August (1,296 against 1,477 units); however, compared to September 2020 (1,029 units), there was 25.3% growth.

Among the brands, Mercedes-Benz maintained its market leadership, with a total of 4,616 vehicles, 61.5% higher than the 2,858 units sold in the same period in 2020. Iveco appears in second, with 3,083 units, against 1,546 units in last year’s period (an increase of 99.4%). Scania came third with 1,238 units, 40.4% more than the 882 units of 2020, surpassing Volkswagen, in fourth with 1,006 compared to a previous 917 units. The largest growth was experienced by Brazilian Agrale, with a sales increase of 138.9%, jumping from 252 units sold from January to September 2020 to 602 units in the same period of this year.
