Brazil - According to Anfavea (National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers) based in São Paulo, Brazilian bus and coach production grew 12.1% in the first seven months of 2021. From January to July this year, 11,857 chassis were produced, against 10,575 units in the same period last year. However, production of buses and coaches in July totalled 1,533 units, down 5.5% compared with June, and represents the worst result for the month of July since 1999.

The comparison is made with the first seven months of 2020, when the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on both the market and production of vehicles was first felt.
