Ballard fuel cell-powered trucks and bus reach 100-million-km milestone

Canada – Ballard Power Systems of Vancouver, British Columbia, has announced the company’s proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell technology has now powered medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles for a combined total of over 100 million kilometres.

Ballard fuel cells currently power around 3,500 buses and trucks globally. The company claims that its on-road kilometres-in-service have more than doubled in the past twelve months.
