Tevva receives grant of GBP4.2m from Advanced Propulsion Centre

UKTevva Motors Ltd, a designer of zero-emission truck concepts based in Chelmsford, UK, has secured a grant from the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC),1 worth GBP4.2m, which it will use to facilitate the development of a range extender for medium- and heavy-duty commercial electric vehicles. 

The company received GBP4.2m out of a total GBP5.7m offered by the APC. The money will be invested in the ‘SANGREAL Project’, a GBP12.2m collaboration between Tevva and Advanced Electric Machines Ltd, a manufacturer of electric powertrain components in Washington, UK, to develop hydrogen-based range extenders. The companies are already currently working on an electric transaxle and an intelligent propulsion control system for optimising the use of the range extension.
