India / UK Following an interview with Truck & Bus Builder, Gainsborough-based emissions solutions firm, Eminox Ltd (a subsidiary of Hexadex Group), has provided additional information on its recently announced joint venture in India with IP Rings Ltd (IPRL)1 - a subsidiary of Amalgamations Group and manufacturer of components for engines, gearboxes and turbochargers based in Chennai, India. Under the agreement, the two companies will establish a 50:50 joint venture (JV) for the design, development, and manufacture of full Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems (EATS). The new company will invest in a technical centre in Chennai to explore ways to cost effectively meet the Indian BS/TREM V off-highway3 and BS VI Stage 24 niche on-highway emissions standards.

IP Rings, which currently manufactures engine components and supply to Tata Motors Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Force Motors Ltd, and Ashok Leyland Ltd, plans to manufacture the emission control products at its Chennai plant. IP Rings explained the companies are in the product development stage for Indian certification, with validation and approval likely to take at least a year by the approving agencies.
