Hydrogen Heavy Duty Vehicle Industry Group to standardise hydrogen refuelling

USA / Norway / South Korea / France / The Netherlands / Japan / – The Hydrogen Heavy Duty Vehicle Industry Group, comprised of hydrogen industry leaders Air Liquide, Hyundai, Nel Hydrogen, Nikola, Shell and Toyota, have signed agreements with Tatsuno Corporation and Transfer Oil S.p.A. to introduce a global standard of 70MPa (1 Megapascal (MPa) is a unit of pressure and is a 1,000,000 pascals; 1MPa = 10 bar) hydrogen refuelling components for heavy duty vehicles.

The industry group was formed in February 2019 with the goal of addressing the hydrogen fuelling hardware challenge of achieving the fuelling speeds necessary for heavy-duty applications. Other goals include testing and evaluating the hardware's performance and standardising the connector design to ensure adoptability throughout the world.
