Knorr-Bremse acquires minority stake in Israeli AI start-up

Germany / Israel– Munich-based braking systems manufacturer Knorr-Bremse AG has announced it has acquired a 5% minority shareholding in Israeli start-up Autobrains Technologies Ltd based in Tel Aviv-Yafo. Autobrains supplies video perception technology and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The investment of USD25 million forms part of Knorr-Bremse’s ADAS and highly automated driving (HAD) strategy. Commenting on the investment, Jan Mrosik, CEO of Knorr-Bremse said: “Today, we are delighted to announce our partnership with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) start-up Autobrains. Autobrains’ proven ‘self-learning AI’ technology has the potential to disrupt ADAS and HAD development in the truck industry”.
