Lion Electric receives conditional order for 1,000 electric school buses

Canada – EV builder The Lion Electric Co. of Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, has announced it has received a conditional purchase order of 1,000 electric LionC school buses from Student Transportation of Canada (STC), a subsidiary of Student Transportation of America.

The purchase order is conditional upon STC receiving a grant from Canada’s Zero Emission Transit Fund (ZETF). The ZETF fund aims to invest USD2.2 billion over the next five years to support public transit and school bus operators in the transition to zero-emissions. If confirmed by a successful grant application, the order would make STC the largest operator of zero-emission school buses in North America.
