Ashok Leyland delivers ultra-low entry CNG-powered buses to New Delhi Airport

New Ashok Leyland CNG-powered low entry airport bus

Chennai – Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai says it has delivered ten 12-metre ultra-low entry BS VI compliant CNG buses to IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation) for operations at New Delhi airport. This airport bus featuring CNG power is a new variant.

These CNG tarmac buses are equipped with the company’s 216 hp ‘H’ Series CNG engine featuring Ashok Leyland’s in-house ‘iGen6 BS VI technology’ built at its engine plant in Hosur and mated with an automatic transmission from Allison Transmission India Pvt Ltd of Chennai, India. The 12m chassis has a wheelbase of 6.3m on axles with full air suspension front and rear. The wheels are fitted with 11R 22.5-16 PR tubeless tyres.
