Indian LCV Trucks sales experienced a growth in first half of 2021

India – Despite second quarter sales in the light truck segment remaining flat, half year sales of  LCV goods carrier (truck) vehicles (gvw ≤ 7.5t) grew by 36.7% to 179,929 units in first half of FY 2021-22, up from 131,582 units in same period of FY 2020-21. Export sales enjoyed robust growth of 176.7% to 24,445 units, helping to help boost production of light trucks by 57.4% to more than 210,000 units (135,021).

The mini-truck segment, GVW ≤ 2t, domestic sales rose by 50.5% to 66,656 units in first half of FY2021-22 from 44,289 units in first half of FY2020-21. Production increased by 63.7% to 77,483 units and export sales contributed 3,750 units, up by 171.1%.
