USAPerrone Robotics of Crozet, Virginia, has reached an agreement with Ouster Inc of San Francisco, California, for the supply of Ouster’s lidar technology to be integrated with Perrone’s autonomous vehicle kit. The agreement includes a binding commitment for hundreds of sensors through 2023.

Perrone, who manufacture an autonomous driving technology named ‘TONY’ (To Navigate You), selected Ouster as a preferred lidar supplier in order to scale up its delivery of autonomous vehicle kits to original equipment manufacturers and end-customers. Perrone intends to install the kit, complete with Ouster’s lidar sensors, in vehicles it has developed in collaboration with its partners, including Local Motors’ ‘Olli’ passenger shuttle, and a range of other passenger and utility vehicles.
