UK – The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the trade association for the UK motor industry based in London, has released statistics on commercial vehicle production showing that output in the UK increased modestly in September, while remaining short of the five-year average.

SMMT figures show that 7,799 vehicles were produced, a 1.8% increase on the year before, but falling 8.1% short of the five-year average of 8,482 for the month of September. This follows a massive decline in August of 35.1%. The increased production volumes were driven, SMMT states, by the fulfilment of several large orders.
