Canada Vicinity Motor Corp, a commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Aldergrove, British Columbia, has received a Letter of Intent from Pioneer Auto Group, an automotive dealer based in Mission, British Columbia, for an order of 100 Class 3 electric trucks worth approximately CAD14m.

Pioneer intends to order 100 ‘VMC 1200’ trucks, with a 12,000-lb gross vehicle weight rating and a range of up to 180 miles on a single charge. Ray Van Empel, President and CEO of Pioneer, said: “This is a major milestone for our vehicle product line to offer the VMC 1200 popular cab over chassis design with an EV powertrain. VMC is a well-known name in the municipal transit space, and it's exciting to see their crossover to industrial trucks. We look forward to selling these new VMC 1200 throughout our dealerships.”
