Carrier expands range of sustainable cooling units

France – Paris-based Carrier Transicold S.A.S. exhibited a range of products at the Solutrans show in Lyon, primarily in its Vector range of hybrid and electric cooling units.

The largest of Carrier’s trailer range, the Vector HE19, has been updated to provide 30% savings in fuel consumption and 50% reductions in noise. The updated HE19 also weighs 10% less than the previous version, partly achieved by removing one of the fans in the condenser. This year, a new electric-only model has been released, featuring a 17kW battery pack from Portuguese-battery supplier, Addvolt¹. Carrier stated that it currently has partnerships with SAF Holland and Valx to develop electric cooling units integrated to trailer e-axles.
