USA / Canada – The NFI Group Inc of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, parent company of several bus and coach brands, announced a new telematics system at APTA Expo 2021, held in Orlando, Florida, on 7-10 November, which will be compatible with all electric vehicles produced by NFI’s subsidiaries in North America.

Previously known as ‘New Flyer Connect’, ‘NFI Connect’ is an updated system which will work with any electric vehicle in North America produced by New Flyer Industries Canada ULC, Motor Coach Industries, ARBOC Specialty Vehicles, and Alexander Dennis Ltd. NFI Connect is a 5G capable system providing real-time data on fleets, covering vehicle performance, diagnostics and alerts to on-road incidents. It also comprises management controls such as geofenced protocols, allowing for operators to programme automatic responses when, for instance, a vehicle enters a low- or zero-emission zone.
