Vietnam - Sales of commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw in Vietnam plunged by over 39% to 8,785 units in the third quarter of 2021 after declining by over 17% to 15,462 units in the same period of last year, based on data released by the Vietnam Automotive Manufacturers Association (VAMA).

The economy shrank by 6.2% year-on-year in the third quarter, according to the General Statistics Office, after large parts of the country were put under strict lockdown as the government looked to contain the worst wave of  COVID cases since the global pandemic began in early 2020.
