Gaussin and Aramco sign hydrogen vehicle partnership

France / Saudi Arabia – French zero-emission vehicle manufacturer GAUSSIN SA, based in Héricourt, France, has signed an agreement with fossil fuel giant Saudi Aramco to establish a manufacturing facility for hydrogen vehicles in Saudi Arabia.

As a first step, Gaussin and Aramco will study the feasibility of a manufacturing facility and a hydrogen distribution business to serve the Middle East. The two companies have also agreed that Aramco’s new Advanced Innovation Center (LAB7) will be closely involved in Gaussin’s development of hydrogen-powered vehicles as well as R&D for a remote controlled or autonomous hydrogen racing truck. The LAB7 facility aims to integrate Aramco’s composite materials into Gaussin’s existing range of products to reduce the weight, energy consumption, and cost of the vehicles.
