HYVIA unveils two hydrogen LCVs

France / UK – Renault Group and Plug Power joint venture Hyvia, based in Villiers-Saint-Frédéric, France, has announced the Renault Master City Bus H2-TECH, a 15-passenger, low-floor minibus, and the Renault Master Chassis-Cab H2-TECH.

The new vehicles, based on the Renault Master platform, will benefit from a zero-emission powertrain comprising a 33kWh lithium-ion battery supplemented by a range-extending 30kW hydrogen fuel-cell. Hyvia claims that the combination provides the City Bus with a range of up to 300km, and the Chassis-Cab a range of up to 250km. The City Bus contains storage for 4.5kg of hydrogen at 350 bar, whereas the Chassis Cab has 3kg of storage.
