Hype claims the run the world’s largest fleet of hydrogen-powered taxis, a business which it began in 2015.

At the show, Hyvia presented a Renault Master van with fuel cell electric driveline which was converted into a workshop vehicle by Kollé of Santeny.

Hyvia will use this hydrogen to test out vehicles based on the Renault ‘Master’ LCV platform, producing enough hydrogen to test up to 1,000 fuel cells per year.

According to the deal agreed between the two companies, HysetCo will start offering vans, minibuses and chassis cabs made to run on fuel-cell electric power by Hyvia, along with services and fuel.

Equipped with a 30-kW fuel cell, a 33-kWh battery and a tank containing 4.5 kg of hydrogen at 350 bar, the bus offers a 300 km range with up to 15 passengers, and a 5-minute refuelling time.

Hyvia, a joint venture between Renault Group and Plug Power based in Villiers-Saint-Frédéric, France, has inaugurated its plant at Renault Group’s manufacturing site in Flins, France. Hyvia states it is ready to begin assembly and testing of fuel cell modules based on Plug Power’s technology.

Hyvia has announced two new hydrogen LCVs based on the Renault Master chassis.

The Renault Master Van H2-TECH prototype van is equipped with a 30-kW fuel cell engine providing a range of up to 500 km.
