Solaris wins EUR76m tender for hybrid buses in Belgium

Poland / BelgiumSolaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. of Bolechowo, Poland (a member of Spain’s CAF Group)  has won a EUR76m tender for 161 hybrid-electric buses and an 8-year maintenance contract which was issued by Opérateur de Transport de Wallonie, a public transport operator serving the Walloon Region of Belgium. The buses are scheduled for delivery next year. 

Solaris will deliver 161 units of the ‘Urbino 12 hybrid’ line of buses, ordered with two-door and three-door layouts, which will join 240 of the same type already in service in the region. 64 units will serve the city of Namur, 58 will go to Charleroi in Hainaut, and 39 will go to the city of Liège. The buses will serve regional transport operators TEC Charleroi, TEC Liège-Verviers, and TEC Namur-Luxembourg
