CanadaNova Bus Inc, a bus manufacturer and subsidiary of Volvo Bus Corporation based in Saint-Eustache, Quebec, Canada, has received its first major order, and its largest to date, for its new line of battery-electric buses (see T&BB November 2021 for more details). 24 units of the LFSe+ are set to be delivered in 2023 and 2024 following pilot tests with operators in the province of Quebec in Canada.

The bus manufacturer was awarded a tender organised by the Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ) and the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL). 10 buses, including five options, will serve RTL in the city of Longueuil; two units each are set for the Société de transport de l’Outaouais and the Société de transport de Trois-Rivières; and 10 units will go to the Société de transport de Sherbrooke. The tender is part of a CAD30m federal and provincial government funding assistance package which is intended to subsidise the electrification of transportation in Canada.
