DAF receives order from Belgian military

The Netherlands / Belgium – DAF Trucks N.V. has received an order for nine heavy tractor/trailer combinations to be used for the recovery of vehicles in conflict zones. The order consists of four-axle all-wheel drive CF military tractors combined with three-axle extendable flatbed trailers from Dutch firm Broshuis B.V., based in Kampen. The vehicles are scheduled for delivery in 2024.

DAF has collaborated with Tatra Trucks a.s. in the development of the trucks, with the Czech firm providing the cabs. The vehicles will also be fitted with a 12.9 litre MX-13 engine from Paccar, outputting 340kW (460hp). This order by the Belgian military follows a previous order in 2021 for the delivery of 879 4x4 and 8x8 vehicles between 2022 and 2025.
