The ‘YCK05’ hydrogen internal combustion engine was built in collaboration with the Beijing Institute of Technology, which successfully tested the engine during a public demonstration. The combustion engine has been designed with efficiency in mind, with high-pressure multi-point inlet air injection and low-inertia turbocharge cited as its key features. China Yuchai plans to mass-produce the engine for multiple applications, including, though not limited to, buses and goods vehicles.
